Welcome to the Java and Bali Indonesia Workshop photographic!
During this trip, we will have the opportunity to explore two of Indonesia’s most beautiful and photogenic islands. From stunning waterfalls to dreamy landscapes, our photography adventure will take us to some of the most iconic places in the region. Additionally, we will have the chance to meet and photograph the local people and their way of life, allowing us to capture the authentic essence of Java and Bali. Throughout the tour, we will be guided by our expert local photographer, who will take us through the best routes and show us the most interesting corners of the region.
We will also have free time to explore and capture our own images, with the support and advice of our expert guides and photographers. Itinerary
We kick off our photographic journey in Indonesia with an exciting airport pickup in Surabaya. From there, we’ll head to the majestic Bromo Mountain, a natural wonder that will take your breath away. After enjoying a delicious lunch, we’ll settle into a cozy hotel near Bromo to recharge. In the evening, we’ll witness a spectacular sunset at Seruni Point, capturing the beauty of Bromo under the golden light. Later in the night, we’ll explore Seruni Point once more to get stunning nighttime shots before returning to the hotel to rest.
We’ll start early with a wake-up call to head to Kingkong Hill in a 4X4 vehicle. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to capture the magic of the night and the sunrise at Kingkong Hill. After a short break at the hotel, we’ll head to Penanjakan to enjoy another stunning sunset and capture its beauty with our cameras. The night will provide us with the opportunity to take nighttime photos at Penanjakan before returning to the hotel to relax.
Our day will start early once again with a morning call, this time to the mystical sands of Pasir Berbisik. Here, you will experience a sunrise with a unique concept of a horse rider, a perfect opportunity to capture stunning images. After returning to the hotel for a well-deserved rest, we will depart for Lumajang.
The fourth day promises breathtaking adventures as we delve into the lush nature of Indonesia. We will start with a sunrise at the majestic Tumpak Sewu waterfall, where natural beauty meets photography. Later, we’ll explore the base of Tumpak Sewu waterfall before relaxing at the hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy an exciting jungle experience with a Quad bike ride and capture the sunset at Sriti waterfall.
This day will be a unique experience as we prepare to capture the majestic sunrise at Mount Semeru. The views and photographic opportunities will be unforgettable. We will head to Jember to enjoy the sunset at the beautiful Papuma Beach. Finally, we will make our way to Banyuwangi for the next stage of our journey.
We’ll wake up leisurely without an early start and get ready for our trek to the Ijen crater. After lunch, we’ll begin our hike to the crater as the sun rises on the horizon. We’ll enjoy the sunset atop the crater and a Milky Way session with its magical trees. After a day filled with adventures, we’ll return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the next stage of our journey.
This day will take us to a stunning sunrise in the Dejawatan forest, where nature blends with photography. Then, we’ll prepare for our journey to Bali, a place filled with charm and culture. We’ll arrive at our hotel in Bali and have time to rest before continuing our exploration.
We will start the day early to capture the magical sunrise at Lake Ulun Danu Beratan, an iconic spot in Bali. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head to Kato Lampo waterfall, and later, we’ll enjoy a sunset at the beautiful Tanah Lot beach, with the opportunity to capture the beauty of the sunset with our cameras.
The ninth day will take us to the charming Tamblingan Lake, where we will capture a unique sunrise with a ritual included. After breakfast, we’ll explore the Banyuwana waterfall, where we’ll have a dancer performing the Legong dance before returning to the hotel to rest. In the evening, we’ll witness the captivating Kecak dance, a perfect opportunity to capture unique cultural moments.
We’ll start the day early with a visit to Pura Jati Temple, where we will capture a stunning sunrise. After breakfast, we’ll head to Tukad Cepung for more photographic adventures. In the afternoon, we’ll have time for shopping for crafts and enjoy a dinner at Hard Rock to celebrate our journey.
Our final day will take us to the stunning Jati Luwih rice terraces, where we will capture the sunrise. Then, we’ll return to the hotel to rest before heading to the Ragnda and Barong Dance, two mythological beings from Indonesian culture.
Today’s itinerary will take us to the airport to allow our participants to catch their flights.

Our Photography Tour in Bali is scheduled for May, during the dry season, with warm and pleasant temperatures. We recommend wearing light and comfortable clothing to enjoy the daytime and nighttime excursions.

Flights to Surabaya (SUB) in Java:
Make sure to book your flight with a destination to Surabaya Airport (SUB) in Java, as this will be your point of arrival at the start of your experience.
Flights from Bali – Bali-Denpasar Airport (DPS):
Bali-Denpasar Airport (DPS) will be your departure point at the end of your trip from Bali. We recommend scheduling your return flight from this airport.
It is advisable to arrive in Surabaya before 12:00 noon on the start day of the tour to take advantage of the orientation session. Some participants choose to arrive a day before the start of the tour, an excellent option to begin the journey rested, especially after a long flight.

Deposit Policy: A reservation is confirmed upon a deposit of US$ 1,000. No spots will be reserved without the deposit.
Final Payment: The final amount must be paid 30 days before the trip begins.
We understand that attending our workshops requires prior commitment, and also that life events can occur that force you to cancel a trip. Depending on the cancellation date, the following conditions will apply:
- More than 90 days before the start date of the workshop: Full refund of payments made.
- Between 90 and 60 days before the start of the workshop: 50% of the booking will be refunded.
- 60-30 days before the start of the workshop: 35% of the booking will be refunded.
- Within 30 days prior to the start of the workshop: No refund will be made.
Accidents:
- IceMonkey is not responsible for accidents to workshop participants and will not cover medical expenses if necessary. During the workshop, each participant is responsible for their own safety and physical integrity.
- IceMonkey is not responsible for accidents or loss of photographic equipment during the workshop. Each participant is responsible for their own photographic equipment.
Travel insurance is mandatory.
Punctuality:
- Each day of the expedition, all participants must be punctual at the established time. All participants must be at the starting point of the expedition for its beginning. In case of delays due to inconveniences, the participant must communicate with someone from the IceMonkey staff as soon as possible.
- Respect:
Participants may be at different levels of knowledge about the subject, which requires patience when explaining topics that are already familiar to them. The photographic area of each participant must be respected. Disrespect towards a participant or staff member will not be tolerated.
This is a discrimination-free space. We will not tolerate racism, sexism, discrimination based on sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Climate:
- The tour and its itinerary depend on the weather and can change at any moment. We will always be attentive to the best weather conditions to determine where to go and optimize the taking of photographs.
